The Tibetan Mastiff originated in Central Asia and is an ancient type of domestic dog which is also use for guarding herds.
It was said that the Tibetan Mastiff was a misnomer as the early western visitors to Tibet misnamed it, it should have been called a "Himalayan Mountain Dog."
Today Tibetan Mastiff is known to be the most expensive dog in the world as it cost almost £1million.
The most priciest dog in the world is the Red Tibetan Mastiff. Big Splash or Hong Dong in Chinese is a Red Tibetan Mastiff who was luckily sold to a multi-millionaire coal Baron of the north of China for 10 million Chinese yuan, or £945,000. He is a very lucky dog because his owner is a millionaire and he can eat anything he wanted.
